The images of children fleeing Syria make us yearn for peace now more than ever. Blossom Hill Foundation was founded on a vision where war-affected children play a leadership role in the healing of their communities, opening up opportunities for their own peaceful and productive future.
With your support over the last few years, we have invested over $350,000 into programming for more than 42,000 children in Latin America, Africa, Eastern Europe and the Middle East, all of whom have experienced a disruption in their lives due to conflict. While we are proud of the positive change we've been able to "seed," we know we have much more work to do in order to help more children "blossom."
When the world seems out of control, I've held onto the belief that there are innumerable inspiring, influential leaders that reside in every corner of the world who have the power to solve the biggest problems in their communities. Each one of us can make a difference and it is this "power of one" that has spurred us to launch our Middle East-focused social entrepreneurship fellowship!
Our fellowship program has already deepened my faith that by investing in the brightest minds and most passionate young individuals that we can work towards our common goal of a more peaceful world. This summer, we met incredibly thoughtful, committed and courageous women and men from around the globe. These individuals are passionate risk takers, who fervently believe in not waiting for war to end to seed the dreams of the next generation.
Please join me in welcoming the inaugural class of Blossom Hill Fellows! We look forward to updating you on their progress in implementing their ideas.
With hope for peace,
