Blossom Hill Fellow Aris Papadopoulos opened the doors of The Blossom Hill STEM Center in mid-September. The Center places STEM education at the core of an Early Childhood Development program reaching out to refugees between 5‐9 years old who are currently out‐of‐school. The Center seeks to nurture and inspire children to pursue an education in science and positively impacts the early educational development of young vulnerable learners. The intended goal is to transform children into tomorrow’s changemakers, equipped with a future‐proof skill base, which will empower them to resolve the challenges and adversities 21st Century refugee communities face. Aris also conducted a training session in drone navigation for seven unaccompanied minors (5 boys and 2 girls ages 14-17) who will become teaching apprentices at the STEM Center.
