"Together for Peace: Respect, Safety and Dignity for All"
The 2017 U.N. Peace Day Theme
Today, September 21st, is The International Day of Peace, a day devoted to “commemorating and strengthening the ideals of peace both within and among all nations and people.” The 2017 International Peace Day promotes respect, safety, and dignity for everyone forced to flee their homes in search of a better life.
Blossom Hill Foundation is proud to fund fellowships for social entrepreneurs - individuals who are committed to developing creative, empowering and solution - driven initiatives working with refugees and internally - displaced communities from the Middle East.
On this International Day of Peace, Blossom Hill Foundation celebrates the work of Fellows Furogh Mirdad and Ahmad Wali Rostami, a team of two educators in Afghanistan running education and entrepreneurship workshops for young women. One of their students, Diana Yaquby won the United World College (UWC-USA) scholarship to attend a two-year International Baccalaureate (IB) program. We are so proud of Diana's hard work and dedication and applaud her as she continues her studies in the UWC program in Las Vegas, across New Mexico, and beyond.
