Help us plant seeds for peace for Syrian children!
Join our Summer Campaign to bring peace education and to build an education center for Syrian refugees.
While nearly one million school aged Syrian refugee children are in need of quality education, the relief and donor communities find themselves in tremendous need of support to offer it: According to 2015 reports by the United Nations High Commission for Refugees, there is a profound strain on resources, leading to significant needs in terms of access and quality to education, despite efforts by local Ministries to help Syrian refugee children and youth. Nearly 50 % of the 950,000 registered school-age refugee children in refugee hosting countries are not enrolled in school. To overcome these hurdles across hosting countries, education partners are working to establish more schools, recruit additional teachers to improve education quality and run awareness sessions with community leaders, parents/ care givers and children. Specifically, more than 200 partnering agencies have been addressing these issues, diligently serving the Syrian refugee community, yet have significant, long-term work ahead and literally billions of dollars to raise to help them get there.
The Blossom Hill Foundation is gathering experts in early childhood development and education to preserve the rights of Syrian children who have been impacted by over four years of violent civil war. Our efforts will be grounded in evidence-based methods for teaching children to become the peace makers of tomorrow.
